Many hands make light work

I've been working in the yard because I'm not much help when it comes to electrical. But Yesterday Dave and Doug tore out 2 of the 4 sheds in the backyard and the dog run for me.

It was lots of fun listening to them trying to one up each other the whole time... "Watch me knock this down!" "Well I'm twice your age and I can still pick this sledge hammer up!!!" :O) It was a great bonding time filled with lots of laughs.

A little later Michelle, Mom and Dad came with a trailer to fill up with the load. It's amazing how much more you can get done with a few more peoples help, Thanks so much to all my family!!!


Just the 2 sheds and the dog run filled an 18 foot trailer about 6 feet high. It was a great nights work.

It was a long road getting here but now the real work begins...

Doug pulled out all the carpet cause it's probably older then me and not in the best of condition.

Rather then having a railing the last owners had a pony wall. It was the first wall to come out.

Doug borrowed this hammer from Dad and soon realized that it's not as strong as it looks.

Doesn't it look much more open now?

This was the next wall to go. It divides the kitchen/dining from the front room.

How would you like to walk into this every time you open the door?!?

This is the backyard in panoramic view and it's also my favorite feature of the home. We have a few fruit trees apple, Apricot, Pear, and Peach. I even found another Apple tree after cleaning out a few dead tree trunks.

These are the 2 sheds in the north corner and a dog run that is hidden in the back corner.

For those of you who don't know, Doug and I have been living with Mom and Dad while we close on our house. And this is the fun we had this morning...

When I got up Doug told me, "Your Dad has a surprise for you and the whole family..." I asked where it came from and his reply was the front yard, so immediately i thought the cats brought us a gift during the night. Doug said "No, it's alive and in your parents room..." Doug opened the door and started crawling on the ground and making Kissee noises. Which for those of you who know Doug will think that is really strange. Then I noticed the bowl of cat food on the floor and out popped a jet black fluff ball of a kitten. She is so darn cute and probably weighs less then a pound but she seems healthy a happy cause she wont stop purring. I think we'll name her Mia. She loves to play with Colby's pom pom tail and He followers her everywhere. (she even stole a few bites of his breakfast) She has had a really long morning and is really sleepy so I'll leave you with this.

Doug got a hobby

I'm always telling Doug to get a hobby and in January he did it!
He built Motorcycles.

Dad really wanted to go on a cruise for Christmas this year and when that didn't happen he announced that we would be going on a different kind of cruise...
in the hills or at the sand dunes. They dirt bikes came in crates from China and Dad had already put one together so Doug helped with the second one.

After they put it together Doug had to go for a ride.

For not knowing how to drive a manual car my first ride on the motorcycle was really pretty fun.

This is motorcycle number 2 that Doug put together. It had 1000 of the strangest puzzle pieces and was by far the hardest puzzle that I have ever helped with.

It took us about 2 weeks of randomly placing pieces here and there to get it together but the end results were great!
(I finally got my table back)

2009 Goals

We have a goal to go through all the temples in Utah this year...
and our first stop was the Manti Temple on January 17, 2009

Our second stop was supposed to be the Mount timpanogos Temple for Lisa but when Doug went to pick her up she was still a sleep... Oops. We all had a good laugh about it and instead we made a quick detour to the Jordan River Temple on February 21, 2009

Taking this picture brought back so many memories.

Since we've had Colby my cute friend has been telling me about a cake from Walmart that looks just like him. I finally broke down and bought the little version so Doug could see it, minus the pink bow he thinks it's pretty good... Now you be the judge?!?!?
